#SanMarinoGP: “Ich werde meine Gewohnheiten ändern”

  • 07.09.2017

The Yamaha rider has quickly overcome the nasty crash during the British GP two weeks ago.

Jonas Folger is back in good shape. An in-depth meeting with his technical staff has clarified the reasons for the technical problems in Silverstone and has helped him regain his confidence. Therefore, the 24-year-old MotoGP™ rider looks forward confidently to the upcoming race weekend in Misano.

Round 13 is relatively new to the calendar. But, the Gran Premio di San Marnio enjoys great popularity among all parties involved since its introduction back in 2007. Not least because of the relaxed atmosphere close to Italy’s holiday region around Rimini’s Adriatic coastline.

Starting time for the MotoGP™ race is as usual at 2 pm this Sunday.

#94 Jonas FOLGER (Monster Yamaha Tech 3, Yamaha YZF-M1), Championship position 9th (77 points):

“I’m glad that the championship continues this weekend. I’m also very relieved that the causes of the problems in the last races are finally clarified. This is incredibly important for me and my confidence at all. Therefore, I will change my habits in terms of braking as well as to warm up the brakes from now on. Fortunately, this bad crash on Sunday morning in Silverstone ended without any serious affects. Apart of that, I think it was my most violent crash I had in my career. But I recovered quickly from the bruises and the stiff neck I suffered and more important, I feel ready for the upcoming task since a while.”

“So, I’m looking forward to Misano and after the unfortunate race last time, I’m sure that we will have more luck on our side this weekend. In addition, I have nice memories from Misno, including one pole position in Moto3 and some other strong results in recent years. Misano is a racetrack that I really like very much and maybe we will work with the new aerodynamic parts again, because I think that these Winglets could bring us some advantages here. Anyway, I’m very confident that we will experience better times this weekend than during the last three Grand Prix last month and I hope to be able to take as many points as possible from Italy.”
