#CzechGP: “I’m going on a high into the Brno weekend”
The stunning 23-year-old MotoGP™ rookie would like to start into the second part of the season just as he finished the first half four weeks ago at his home race at the Sachsenring.
After a four-weeks summer break, the second half of this year’s World Championship is set to get underway this weekend in the Czech Republic. Despite the long time off racing, Jonas Folger arrived in Brno with a high feeling. His splashy second place at this home race is still in good memory. In addition, the Yamaha rider also likes to remember the 2016 Brno race, when he won at the marvellous and challenging circuit in the Czech Republic for the second time in his career.
Round ten of the season sees the usual time schedule for a race weekend in Europe which means that the race start is scheduled for Sunday 2:00 pm CET.
#94 Jonas FOLGER (Monster Yamaha Tech 3, Yamaha YZF-M1), Championship position 7th (71 points):
“After four races within a month in June and early of July, the summer break came at the right time, I have enjoyed this time a lot. During holidays, I could relax for one week. In general, I have tried to get a distance from our normal business in racing with other things over the past four weeks. This was really good for me. Apart from this, I also was able to do my practice throughout the break well and in doing so I prepared well myself for the second part of the season.”
“But honestly, after four weeks without racing I’m looking forward to Brno now and that the championship continues. Beyond that, there are also some nice memories about the races in the Czech Republic as I could win twice here. From this point, I think that it can be a good weekend this time again. Especially because of the last race I go with a great feeling into this weekend’s grand prix and also the Yamaha should work well here. The entire team is highly motivated and we will, of course, give everything to carry on all these positive aspects with us. I’m really looking forward going to Brno. Thursday’s pre-event was a cool one. I have never done JetSurf before. However, it was that much huge fun straight from the beginning and it was definitely a great match to start the weekend like this, particularly as I have won this competition.”
