GP Deutschland: To shine in front of the home crowd
Jonas Folger feverishly looking forward to his home race at the legendary Sachsenring where he is eager to implement his skills in strong results at the German circuit finally too.
Despite some less highlights Folger wasn’t able to show his real potential at the 3.6 kilometres long track in Saxony in recent years. This is something he would like to change this weekend. The 22-year-old Moto2 rider from Bavaria took benefit from the break after the Assen race in order to prepare more targeted for the upcoming tasks at the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. Already the unlimited enthusiasm of the German fans at the Sachsenring inspires Folger to return to his impressive performance he displayed already earlier this season.
Thanks to more than 200.000 (!) spectators year by year the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland is the biggest motorsport party in German since years. The just 3.6 kilometres long circuit is characterized by a number of long corner and also by several uphill and downhill sections. Starting time for round nine is scheduled for Sunday 12:20 pm with a demanding distance fo 29 laps.
#94 Jonas FOLGER (Dynavolt Intact GP, KALEX) – Wold Championship position 7th (63 points):
“I’m really looking forward to my home race at the Sachsenring. As it were, to set the mood for this weekend I took part at the `Red Bull Vogelfrei´ event last weekend in the region there. It was such a funny event as always, I enjoyed it a lot. Of course my home round is always something special and at the same time a big task for me personally. Honestly speaking, I didn’t become really friends with the twisty Sachsenring so far. It’s difficult for me to adapt to this really unique layout. But I hope that things will change this weekend and I’ll achieve really strong results for the very first time there. This would be enormous important for as well for the motivation overall to finish in a strong position this Sunday in front of my home fans.“
