GP Japan: After Crash Focus already set on Australian round
After an early race crash Jonas Folger had to hid his hopes for a strong result in last Sunday Japanese Grand Prix in the gravel.
Marvelous autumn weather also accopamied race day at the enormous Twin Ring Motegi. After a good qualifying performance and second fastest lap time during this morning’s Warm Up session, Folger went into the race determined to finish in a strong position. But already in lap four he crashed out of the race.
The 23-year-old rider has the opportunity to correct this mistake next weekend already. The series moves crossover to Down Under for the Australian Grand Prix.
#94 Jonas FOLGER (Dynavolt Intact GP, KALEX), DNF (World Championship position 7th, 133 points):
“I’m sorry for my team because all their efforts were useless. But in the start it was difficult from the very first beginning at the start. I didn’t leave the line well and lost some positions. I tried and did my best to find my rhythm and to gain positions back. But unfortunate I crashed in lap four at turn nine when I lost the front. I did nothing else as pushing as hard as possible in order to move up towards the front. I really can’t say anything else. I’m glad that we head straight to the next race in Australia in one week where I’m determined to do it much better.”
