Jonas Folger: “Absolutely nothing to be concerndes about”
The Bavarian Moto2 rider was again one of the protagonists at the first day of practice in the Czech Republic, even if the heat didn’t play in his cards in the afternoon.
22 year young Folger was again in top form at the Brno circuit on Friday. He started with second fastest into the weekend and was even able to improve his lap time during the day’s second session in the afternoon, but because of the much higher track temperatures by just a margin. The very different condition were not in favour to the bike’s handling, which was the reason that he slipped down the order to sixth position.
#94 Jonas FOLGER (AGR Team, Kalex) FP1: 2. – 2´03.420 (14/14) / FP2: 6. – 2´03.347 (15/15):
“In general I’m happy how things went today. It was another good start into the weekend although we had to fight a little bit more in the heat of the afternoon. After our strong FP1 we changed only a few things on the bike before the second session went underway. But because of nearly 15 degrees more asphalt temperatures the handling of the bike changed essential and the front was noticeable more nervous. Because of that we’re going to sit down together now in order to find some compromises for tomorrow. Like already said the hotter conditions affected the suspension, which stopped me from improving more during FP2, whilst the top guys were able to step up the pace a lot. But our situation is absolutely not worrying, it’s just a matter of being better prepared for tomorrow’s qualifying after what we’ve learned today.”
