High hopes for Misano race

  • 10.09.2015

Jonas Folger looks forward with high expectations for this weekend’s round 13 at the Italian Misano Circuit.

A fifth position achieved in Silverstone in difficult conditions recently as well P6 two weeks prior to that at the Brno Circuit underlines Folger‘s increasing form curve since the second part of the season went underway in Indianapolis mid of August. Folger is determined to continue in the same way and further to build on this time out for the Gran Premio di San Marino even though he likes a lot the 4.2 kilometers long layout at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. At this place Folger collected his first ever World Championship points back in 2008 just in his second Grand Prix. Beyond that he delivered strong performances in the past years too even in 2014 a penalty hampered Folger to finish the race in a possible top-five finish after the Kalex rider exceeded the track limit too many times.

#94 Jonas FOLGER (AGR Team, Kalex) – World Championship position 6th (102 points):

“After our positive races in Brno and Silverstone recently, expectations of course are high for this weekend and the goal is clearly to improve fifth position from two weeks‘ time ago. Beyond that, the Misano Circuit is a track which suites my riding style very well. Unfortunate there are not so nice memories to last year’s race there as I was penalized due to exceeding the track limit some times. This penalty cost a strong result in the race. However, till this ride through penalty I was closely following the group fighting for P5 in the race which displayed very well that the speed was there. But not only due to that fact, I’ll head in positive mind into this weekend to do even stronger this time. In any case I look forward to this Grand Prix because I enjoy riding at this track a lot as well I look forward to our post-race test on Monday at the same circuit. A few teams were for a two day test in Aragon last week which will benefit them during the first practice sessions for sure but I think till Saturday everything is matched equal and as already said we will test on Monday too.“
