Strong opening day at Indy
Jonas Folger underlined already on day one of practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that he took the most of the three week summer break to re-energize his batteries and strengthens.
Folger concluded the day in seventh position of the combined practice times after he set the second fastest lap time this morning. In doing so the 21 year young Bavarian rider set a clearly sign about his targets for the second part of the season. But first he is ambitious to achieve a strong starting position for Sunday’s round ten in Indiana and Folger also eyes with a top finish in the race. Though, the Kalex rider is not only due to that fact confident as he set his fastest lap times with used tyres today.
#94 Jonas FOLGER (AGR Team, Kalex) FP1: 2. – 1´37.781 (17/22) / FP2: 7. – 1´37.560 (11/19):
“I’m really happy how we started into the weekend. As displayed by today’s results, the break was definitely good for me because I feel very relaxed and I enjoy riding my bike here at Indy a lot. If you consider that I couldn’t reach a points scoring position last year and now we’re very close to the top guys so we had a good day. In general it looks very promising. We also already working in the right direction and we did our fastest lap times with the softer compound, even with used tyres. So I think we’ll continue with this option because it also delivers a good endurance performance. The hard tyre doesn’t work for my package. I’, very pleased thus far and the target is to fight for a top starting position tomorrow.”
