The Grand Prix de France at the historic Bugatti Circuit of Le Mans is making history as the series celebrates a round anniversary with its 1000th Grand Prix. Jonas Folger experiences this honour at his team’s home race in the northwest of the country, of all places.
Jonas Folger lines up on the grid for the third time this weekend for GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 and was very motivated to do a good job in front of the team’s home crowd. In the morning he focused on tuning his bike to his riding style to create the best possible conditions for the French track. In the afternoon, the 29-year-old German continued to work on the settings of his race bike and was able to improve his time by 1.1 seconds to a 1:33.672. In the evening he still will to make some changes with his crew to feel more comfortable on the KTM RC16 and improve his times on Saturday.

“The track here at Le Mans is very demanding, so the start of the day was a bit difficult for me. I needed time to find my flow, especially in the first practice. I was a bit lost with my riding style, so we need to check the data and try to go back to the setting from the test in Jerez. We need to make some changes tonight to make the bike smoother and that should help me improve my riding, get faster and get closer to the other guys. A big thank you to my guys for their help. I’m looking forward to Saturday to continue our work.”
