After a short break, Superbike rookie Jonas Folger and his Bonovo Action / MGM Racing Performance team will be looking to settle again at Misano this weekend.

At the meeting two weeks ago in Estoril, Portugal, the newcomers to FIM Superbike World Championship from Germany failed to quite hold their own against the high level of performance in the production based 1000cc series. Finishing 16th in Saturday’s first race of the weekend, 27-year-old Jonas Folger narrowly missed out a point scoring finish, while he was unable to find his usual speed in the Superpole race. In the race on Sunday afternoon was added technical bad luck. The focus this weekend is therefore on rehabilitating himself and creating a basis for the subsequent races.

#94 Jonas FOLGER (Bonovo Action MGM Racing, BMW M 1000 RR):

“I am looking forward to Misano. Misano has always been a good place for me. That is why there are also fond memories. But now I am curious to see how the track feels riding the BMW Superbike there. I am hoping for a stable weekend because I do not want to experience a rollercoaster ride like in Estoril again so soon. In addition, at the third attempt, we should consistently establish ourselves in positions in which we feel comfortable, and which also correspond to our capabilities. Points are clearly the goal. If we succeed in this, then we can be satisfied.”

“Our priority is to work on a setting and to set up the bike in a way so that we have a basis for the following circuits, and we do not have to keep changing the bike consistently. Before that, however, there is good news, as spectators are allowed for the first time again. I am particularly pleased about that because it is a first step back to normality, even if the number is limited to around 5,000 per day. Still, I cannot wait to experience some atmosphere finally again.”
